While I enjoy powerful and vivid colors, I love black and white because it reduces an image into its essential elements:  light, tonal changes, and contrasts.  Black and white photography is timeless.  It allows for a departure from the frame.   Colors are gone which allows us to immerse ourselves in the frozen moment and use  our imagination to ‘fill in the colors.’  It emphasizes emotion and allows me to see light in a new way.    It adds a sense of mystery.  It emphasizes emotions, enhances elemental interactions within a frame.
